Mattresses and impact absorbent surfaces

Playgrounds are equipped with various surfaces to dampen shocks, from free particle surfaces such as sand, wood chips, etc. to machined surfaces such as rubber mats, rubber tiles, etc. The absorbent quality of such surfaces deteriorates over time as a result of wear, vandalism and weather conditions, therefore an appropriate monitoring test is required in order to determine their suitability.

Gabi Shoef is ISO 17025 accredited by the National Laboratory Accreditation Authority under Standard BS-EN1177 for the performance of the following tests:

• Determining the critical height for falling
• Determining the head injury criterion

Both upon finalization of the production phase in the factory or at the playground, as a periodic inspection recognized under IS 1498.
