Route 60 tunnel project<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Route (60) project tunnels at the southern entrance to Jerusalem is one of the largest and most significant transportation projects in Israel in recent years.<\/p>

The length of the tunnel route is 12 km from the Rosemary Junction in the Gilo neighborhood of Jerusalem to Elazar. The project includes widening the road, adding two traffic lanes and constructing two new tunnels next to the existing tunnels, one 300 m long and the other 900 m long.<\/p>

Continuous monitoring of the tunnel is critical throughout the execution of the project and for this purpose Gabi Shoef has installed over 300 optical sensors, dozens of extensometers, inclinometers and Strain gauge systems.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

All the monitoring systems used by the Company operate on the basis of state-of-the-art equipment in the field of wireless communication.<\/p>

The Shazar tunnel constructed during the project is 250 meters long and 30 meters below ground, leading from the Meitarim junction bridge to the connection with Agrippa Street. Above the route of the tunnel is a road and nearby buildings exposed to displacement and subsidence as a result of the mining work.<\/p>

Gabi Shoef was selected to carry out geotechnical monitoring of the road and nearby buildings above the tunnel route at the entrance to the city over a period of 3 years.<\/p>

As part of the project, Gabi Shoef carried out massive monitoring of the road and nearby buildings using ATS systems throughout the entire mining period. All information was transferred online to a control room which was manned 24\/7 for the entire duration of the project.<\/p>
