Electra was chosen for construction of a parking lot and an underground car park on Shazar Blvd. at the western entrance to Jerusalem, at a cost of NIS 320 million. The underground car park includes approx. 1,370 parking spaces, level separation and an underground pedestrian passageway. Construction works to be completed within 42 months. The project is an initiative of the Ministry of Transportation and the Jerusalem Municipality and is being carried out by the municipal companies Eden and Moriah.<\/p>

The Shazar tunnel constructed during the project is 250 meters long and 30 meters below ground, leading from the Meitarim junction bridge to the connection with Agrippa Street. Above the route of the tunnel is a road and nearby buildings exposed to displacement and subsidence as a result of the mining work.<\/p>

Gabi Shoef was selected to carry out geotechnical monitoring of the road and nearby buildings above the tunnel route at the entrance to the city over a period of 3 years.<\/p>

As part of the project, Gabi Shoef carried out massive monitoring of the road and nearby buildings using ATS systems throughout the entire mining period. All information was transferred online to a control room which was manned 24\/7 for the entire duration of the project.<\/p>
